Bonolo Phinius MSc, a Research Fellow at Botswana Harvard Helath Partnership (BHP), has been named as one of the 2023 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science Young Talents in Sub-Saharan Africa. Phinius is a PhD Candidate in Medical Sciences at University of Botswana and her studies are sponsored by the Trials of Excellence in Southern Africa (TESA) Network.

At the Botswana Harvard Health Partnership, Phinius has dedicated her work to studying the prevalence of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) in Botswana and has been recognized by The Fondation L’Oréal and UNESCO for her research work.

Each year, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talents Sub-Saharan Africa Awards recognize and support African women scientists for the excellence of their scientific research. For this 14th edition of the awards, 25 PhD candidates and 5 post-doctoral researchers will be rewarded at the annual ceremony hosted in Kasane, Botswana on the 9th November 2023.
