Introduction

The Trials of Excellence in Southern Africa (TESA) supported through funding from the EDCTP is hosting two short courses in GCP and GCLP training in Lusaka, Zambia. Both courses are open to TESA affiliate sites at no cost for the course content. However, attendees will be required to meet their own travel and accommodation costs.

Training Course 1 – Introduction to GCP

Making GCP Training Relevant and Applicable for Clinical Staff.
Course overview: Introduction to purpose & principles of GCP. Overview of the practical implementation of GCP in clinical trials and ethics in clinical trials. Updated with ICH E6 (R2) material.

Training course 2 – Introduction to Good Clinical Laboratory Practice

The course will cover topics relating to GCLP compliance requirements to ensure that clinical laboratory results for clinical trials are reliable, repeatable and most importantly auditable.
Course overview: Introduction to the principles and elements of GCLP. Exposure to GCLP concepts and implementation.
GCLP training is recommended for any member of the laboratory staff involved in work that supports a clinical trial.
Please note that course material will be provided on day of the training course.
Certificates of completion will be issued upon successful completion of an assessment test for each course above. Full attendance is required in order to receive the course certificate. Both courses will be conducted in English.
